Laptop Computers Toshiba

Hi, I'm Ron. I've prepared this review because as a buyer it can become increasingly overwhelming when shopping for a laptop computer.

Toshiba is one of the most respected computer and electronic companies out on the market. Many people flock to their laptop computers and for good reason. Below I will break down a few of their best computers and give some insight to the many models they have available. Laptop computers Toshiba style, give the consumer a wide range of characteristics such as Netbooks, gaming computers, high performance and everyday computing. Read on to find out which laptop computer fits you best.

Laptop Computers Toshiba Overview

Toshiba launched their first labtop computer back in 1985. Crazy, because I didn't even own a desktop until 1994. But one of the things that Toshiba has been known for all these years is making their laptop computers user- friendly. They constantly are looking to real people in real world situations instead of a lab.  They look to design their computer technologies that work with the the consumer not against them.

Toshiba never assumes the consumer is an IT expert, as most of us are not.  So they have designed things like one-click wireless connectivity, visual timeline file searches and tactile track pads which makes it far easier for the end user to get things done.  They have even created fun and entertaining applications like Sleep & Music, which lets you listen to your MP3 player even while your laptop is asleep.  They also understood the value of working closely with Microsoft engineers to make Windows 7 run amazingly fast and more efficiently on their laptops.

Speed, performance, innovation and intuitive laptops are all a good thing but none of that matters if the laptops themselves keep breaking down.  There is nothing more frustrating than having your computer crash before your eyes or watch in slow motion as it falls to the ground breaking into  several pieces.  Computers today have become equivalent to a persons right arm.  It is absolutely devastating to lose such valuable files, programs and documents

Laptop computers made by Toshiba have some built in features that help protect your computer from all the harmful elements, from the durable one-piece case to sensors that can detect that the laptop is falling.  This is a brilliant addition because when these sensors are activated the computer locks down the hard drive protecting it from damaging the data in an accident.  In fact, these new innovations work so well, Toshiba was just given the highest reliability rate out of the top five leading laptop manufactures.

Laptop computers, Toshiba, are a great buy.  Yes there are more expensive laptops out there and there are less expensive too but a good laptop computer is one that keeps the consumer in mind at all times.  It's no fun to struggle with technology so Toshiba has made it so technology works with the laptop user and not against them.  After all isn't that what we would expect from the experts?

Everyday Use, Gaming or Netbook?

Obviously when shopping for a laptop computer you need to have some idea as to what you want to achieve with your new purchase.  There are so many to choose from such as gaming and media computers, small thin portable netbooks, high performance business computers and laptops for the average Joe.  In this section I will break down the characteristics of some the most popular laptop computers from Toshiba.

Every Day Use:

Toshiba has a series out called the Satellite Series and while there are far more powerful computers out on the market, Toshiba's own Qosmio is one of them, this series is great for the everyday Joe looking for a inexpensive multimedia laptop to perform the average applications.  This is a perfect computer for the home or home office user.  It is competitively priced yet still offers the consumer a great "every day" useable laptop computer.

Lets face it, most of us out there are content to have a relatively cheap multimedia notebook that allows us to save songs and photos, watch movies, surf the Internet, type a letter or report, chat with our friends on Facebook and download some applicable programs for fun or business.

If this sounds like you than the Toshiba Statellite Series is a great laptop computer to consider.  There are many to choose from depending on how much RAM and space you need but they are all priced under $1500 making these computers a terrific buy for your money.

Gaming and Media:

If gaming and extreme media applications is what you are looking for then no need to look any further.  The new Qosmio X305-Q708 from Toshiba features Intel's quad-core processor, two video cards, with a blazen red hot finish.  As price tags go this one is hot and might be too much for the average consumer, at just over $4000, but if you are looking for some powerful graphics then you have found your computer.

Everyday Use, Gaming or Netbook? (cont'd)

The Qosmio X305 comes packed with a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme QX9300 and dual nVidia GeForce 9800M GTS 512MB SLI GPUs. That's twice as many cores and twice as many GPUs as your average laptop giving the ability to work fast with lots of graphics.  The X305 also comes with 4GB DDR3 1066MHz SDRAM, and a 128GB SSD as well as a 320GB HDD. The 17" screen has a max resolution of 1440x900. As for other features included this computer also comes with an integrated webcam, four stereo speakers with subwoofer, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort, 4 USB ports, Firewire, a multicard reader and Bluetooth. The Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q708 weighs approximately 9lbs with an 8 cell battery.

Netbook (mini laptop):

The netbook, or what is also known as the mini laptop, exploded onto the scene just recently.  They are extremely portable and some weigh as little as 3lbs.  Understand first what you are wanting before you buy a Netbook because they really are in a class of their own.

Netbooks offer ease of use, portability and the ability to be online on the go but they don't have the some of the same functions available to them as regular laptops such as DVD drives and the ability to hold a lot of programs.  Netbooks are really designed to work synergistically with your PC and not a stand alone.  But if you are looking to just use it for the web, email, chats, and updating your Facebook page or blog a netbook can be a great asset.  With most netbooks under $300 they are very inexpensive but can be a great tool for those on the go.

Toshiba netbooks offer up to an eight-hour battery life rating so you can forget about those darn power outlets.  These mini laptops also have 3G Connectivity to enable you to download, post, browse and communicate faster, a Webcam and microphone for chatting live, and a USB Sleep&Charge (NB300 Models only) so you can charge up other portables even when your PC is off, which is pretty darn cool.

Laptops Getting Cheaper (less expensive, I mean)

Now a days laptops are actually outselling the old-fashioned desktop PCs.  Much of that has to do with the significant drop in price over the last few years.  Laptops have always had their advantages such as mobility but they were often too pricey for the average consumer.

Today it is not difficult to find an inexpensive laptop.  Just look at the Netbooks if you don't believe me but it's a safe assumption that when trying to decide which laptop is best for you that with the smaller the laptop the poorer it's performance.  Know what you are wanting to use your laptop for before buying one.  If you are needing it for business or you are into graphics and gaming then you are going to need to step it up in price but if you are really only looking to use it for the web, email, some word processor stuff than you can absolutely find laptops for half the price they used to be and still enjoy the functionality of a desktop.

Laptops, like a couple from Toshiba, may even be saving you money.  What do I mean?  Well, how about energy costs.  Energy costs are spiraling out of control and as more regulation is set the cost of cowering anything will cost more.  With Toshibas Eco Utility button on many of their laptops you not only save energy costs but you also help the environment.  Laptops equipped with this power-saving eco utility, offer improved energy management. With a single click you can switch to a pre-configured power plan that will not only let you go green, but let you see the measurable savings too.

So as far as laptop computers go you have the world at your feet.  You can spend as little as $300 and as much as $4100 but for the average computer finding something that will be sufficient is probably under $1000.  Today you can enjoy the portability of a laptop computer with the performance of a PC at a reasonable cost.
